Health Care

The HELP Committee (Health, Education, Labor and Pensions) in the US Senate has completed two bi-partisan hearings on stabilizing premiums and help individuals in the individual insurance market. The committee heard from a selection of state insurance commissioners on Sept. 6 and governors on Sept. 7. Sen. Mike Enzi, R-Wyo, is on the committee. The testimony was almost unanimously in favor of funding the cost sharing reductions for at least 2 years and in favor of funding outreach and navigators to help people enroll in the individual insurance market.

Listen to the hearings online: Insurance Commissioners, where Sen. Enzi's remarks and questions begin at about 1:05, and Governors, where Sen. Enzi's remarks and questions begin at about 1:09.
