WHEREAS, A total of 410 bills and resolutions were introduced to the 2015 General Session of the Wyoming State Legislature, and

WHEREAS, the citizens of Wyoming elect their legislators with the expectation they will be exercise sound judgment in the origination, debate and advancement of bills that ensure responsible governance of the affairs of the State, and

WHEREAS, in the course of their deliberations, legislators have a fiduciary obligation to minimize administrative costs attendant to these deliberations, these costs including but not limited to time expended by the Legislative Service Office in framing, collating, publishing and tracking bills introduced by legislators, and

WHEREAS, introduction of bills relating to national issues over which the State of Wyoming has no reasonable expectation of influence consume time and resources otherwise available for substantive debate on issues relevant to the health, safety and well-being of the citizens of Wyoming,

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the League of Women Voters of Wyoming urge legislators to avoid introduction of bills extraneous to the affairs of the State and to focus their talents upon passing bills that promote the health, safety and well-being of their constituents.
