The MT Supreme Court selected Maylinn Smith to be the nonpartisan chair of the MT redistricting commission. That commission submitted 9 possible maps, all of which Smith rejected as flawed. They divided counties and didn’t regard native populations.
In response, the partisan members created maps 10 and 11. Smith will choose the map going forward on Oct 10. MT residents will vote residents will vote on the map in November 2022. The image below suggests one side of the debate between maps 10 and 11.
