Activity in the Laramie Community

+ Conduct non-partisan Albany County candidate forums for primary and general elections. In 2024, we conduced 10 forums in conjunction with the Albany County Public library for city and county offices.

+ Work with the Laramie Boomerang for more than 50 years to publish a printed non-partisan voter guide prior to primary and general elections. For 2024, a primary guide was published July 27, and a general election guide was published on October 12.

+ Sponsor community outreach information booths and programs to provide civic education for our citizens and encourage participation in our elections and government.

+ Sponsor community educational forums on items of interest such as: local emergency preparedness, the structure of local government, alternative voting methods, and constitutional issues.

+ Work with other local and state leagues to advance our lobbying efforts to support or oppose legislation that impacts our ability to vote and how we vote.

+ Advocate for sufficient funding for the county and city governments.

+ Members attend government meetings as observers. They gather human stories and insights, not in the minutes of a meeting, so that all members could share insight into local good government.
