Following an April 10 public hearing on the closing of Beitel School, the Albany County School District No. 1 Board will host a special meeting April 24 at 6 p.m. “for the purpose of discussion and a vote on the closure of Beitel Elementary School effective for the 2024-2025 school year.” The meeting comes out of public, staff and parent reactions to the initial 2025 planned closure date. The April 24 meeting will take place in the School Administration Building at 1948 Grand Avenue and streamed live via the district’s YouTube channel.
