The Park Co. Commission was asked to impose hand-counting of the 2024 ballots. Currently, machines mechanically count all WY paper ballots. SOS Gray’s office examines and approves those devices.
Two reasons were given: (1) to secure elections, and (2) to restore confidence. Questions #25 and #26 from the Summer 2022 WYSAP survey were the evidence cited for (2) the vote. Notice that #25 doesn’t isolate WY elections for fraud, and #26 says about 60% of the respondents were very confident; only 13% were unsure.
