    World Turtle Day

    The American Tortoise Rescue established World Turtle Day in 2000.  The organization has helped rehome turtles and tortoises, animals that inhabit every continent—except Antarctica.  The United States has the greatest number of turtle species.  See more photos>>>

The 104-year-old League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization to help citizens to be engaged in their government, to be informed and to vote. It advocates for issues but not candidates or political parties.
