102nd anniversary Leser v. Garnett decision affirming 19th Amendment
Maryland did not ratify the 19th Amendment and two months after the federal government had, two women tried to vote in Maryland. The Maryland legislature sued on the grounds of their gender and lost. Justice Brandeis wrote the decision.
