  1. The US Secretary of State announced ratification when he called Carrie Chapman Catt. Ms. Catt was the president of the North American Woman Suffrage Association.

  2. Tennessee was the 36th and last needed state to sign the suffrage proclamation. It granted women the right to vote in the United States.
