The Albany County School Board will host a public hearing Wednesday, April 10 at 6 pm in the Laramie Middle School Cafeteria aimed to gather community input from parents, teachers, students or others in the community. Declining projected district enrollment figures, falling state appropriations and mounting maintenance costs have prompted the district to look at cutting costs including plans to close Beitel. A final vote on whether to close the school will take place at the May School Board meeting.
