1st day of Ramadan. “May you have a generous Ramadan”
March 22 @ 12:00 am – 12:00 pm
Today is the first day of the Muslim holy day Ramadan. Ramadan follows a lunar calendar and lasts for 30 days. The lunar calendar has 11 fewer days than the solar calendar. 56 countries follow the lunar calendar.
Believers will pray and be especially self-reflective. Many will fast during the days of Ramadan, with no food or water during daylight hours. If you wish to send greetings to a Muslim friend, you might try “Ramadan Kareem” or “Ramadan Mubarak.” Go to the Newsweek link at the end of this comment for 38 additional suggestions for greetings during Ramadan.
