ARPA funds that can sustain the 988 suicide hotline for another year.  What about its future?   Some are waiting on WY’s share of new Biden dollars for suicide prevention.  Too many preface support on “proof” that the 988 system works.  Rep. Jon Conrad, R-Mountain View reminded the body that it is difficult to determine the direct impact of the call centers.

Rep. Liz Storer, D-Jackson warned that next bust cycle should be a concern.  Job loss and support for call centers funding are inversely related.

Someone might have mentioned that Congress passed the legislation  intending that each state would “fund local 988 systems through small fees in telecommunications bills.”
