The NAEP 30-person board oversees the exam. It voted to kill important assessments that comprise the Nation’s Report Card over the next seven years. It reduced the statistical staff from 100 to 3. The remaining three don’t work directly with NAEP. Cuts include: 
- 2026 long-term trends exam
- 4th grade science 2028 exam
- 12th grade history 2023 exam
- 12th grade science 2032 exam
- ALL 2028 math and reading scores reporting at the state level & at the district-level 8th grade science score reporting
