This ruling went further than a previous court:  the Federal Government cannot require proof of citizenship and AG Bondi cannot take acction against states to decide to count mail-in ballots after election day.  13 states currently honor this practice, and the judge ruled that they have standing to sue.

  • Residents of Maine may have Canadian birth Certificates and no passport
  • Pueblo citizens in rural AZ have few personal documents
  • Citizenship docs are expensive
  • The states would carry the financial burden to revamp the procedures
