Because “School districts are one of the few systemic ways you can get information to families,” schools can and should prepare to help.  The federal legislation passed after the Uvalde, TX shooting helps schools help their students.

 

The Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, facilitated schools’ use of Medicaid funds to pay for mental health care at school.  In fact, it’s estimated that this set of school-based services is now the 3rd or 4th largest income stream for many schools.  Read more>>>
