Headlines since 2019 have urged readers to do something about deportations of vets.  Congress is now trying.  The Veterans’ Service Recognition Act H.R. 7946 passed the House yesterday.  The bill is backed by American Legion.  No one gathers past service data at the deportation centers, and should.

The Act allows:

  1. Non-citizen service members to enroll for naturalization while still in service.
  2. Homeland Security establishes a review board for individual families
  3. Allow non-citizens vets with no violent criminal past and who have been deported a route back to apply for permanent residency
